Make one personal-care task easier

A personal-care routine feels difficult to begin or has too many steps.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Choose one ordinary care task you want to make easier, such as washing your face or changing clothes.
  2. Identify one obstacle: supplies, access, privacy, energy, time, or something else. Make one adjustment you can manage, or name the help you need.
  3. Write the smallest version you are willing and able to try, and choose a time or familiar cue for it.

An example

“Choosing clothes is too much tonight. I’ll put one comfortable outfit on the chair for tomorrow.”

Reflect

What got in the way, and did the adjustment fit your needs?

Next time

Adapt the task to the next day’s capacity. A missed attempt is information about the plan, not your worth.
