Build a cue and a small routine · S3.1
Notice what follows a habit
You want to understand what makes an everyday action easy to repeat.
Everyday practice
Try these steps
- Choose one habit and describe a recent example: what happened just before it, what you did, and what followed.
- Notice any immediate payoff or difficulty, such as convenience, enjoyment, relief from a task, or extra effort.
- Choose one practical change to the cue or outcome that could support an action you want to repeat.
An example
Putting my book beside the chair means I can read without finding it first.
Reflect
What seems to influence repetition, and what are you still guessing?
Next time
Observe another example before deciding the pattern is consistent.
