Build a cue and a small routine · S3.2

Attach a small action to a routine

You want to remember a small task alongside something you already do.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Choose a routine that already happens reliably.
  2. Pick one small action to do immediately before or after it.
  3. Write the pairing as “After I…, I will…” and try it once.

An example

“After I put my keys down, I will place tomorrow’s bag beside them.”

Reflect

Was the existing routine a useful reminder?

Next time

If the pairing is awkward, choose a different cue or a smaller action.
