Adapt or restart a routine · S3.12

Describe a missed routine without labeling yourself

A story such as ‘I can never keep habits’ is crowding out the details.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Write the broad label you are using, then describe one specific recent occasion.
  2. List what the plan required and what conditions were actually present, including support or obstacles.
  3. Write an account that includes those details and choose whether to change the plan.

An example

I intended to tidy after work, but the appointment ran late. I need a cue that fits days with appointments.

Reflect

Does the account explain more than the label did?
