Choose trust, closeness and commitment · D5.18

Consider what would be needed after broken trust

Trust has been affected and you want to consider options without assuming reconciliation is required.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Name the agreement or expectation that was broken and its practical impact.
  2. Identify what information, accountability, changed behavior, distance, or support you would need before deciding anything further.
  3. Choose a next step within your control. You can defer a decision or choose not to rebuild contact.

An example

Before making another shared plan, I need clarity about what happened and whether the arrangement can change.

Reflect

What evidence would matter over time, and what cannot be resolved by a promise alone?

Next time

Take the pace and support the situation requires; trust cannot be demanded.
