Name a feeling or a current need · S1.13

Describe body and emotion separately

You want clearer words for an uncomfortable moment.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. If it suits you, name one physical sensation and one possible emotion, keeping them separate.
  2. Note the immediate context without assuming the sensation proves a particular cause.
  3. Choose one current need to address, or simply record the observation and stop.

An example

My shoulders feel tight; I may be frustrated; the room is crowded and I would prefer more space.

Reflect

Was describing the parts separately helpful?

Next time

Skip body attention and describe the surroundings if that is more comfortable.
