Explore a recurring belief or rule · D8.2

Put a familiar belief into words

A recurring assumption seems relevant to how you see an everyday situation.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Choose a recent, manageable example and write the assumption it brought up.
  2. Ask whether the sentence describes this event or makes a broader statement about yourself, others, or the world.
  3. Write one question about that broader statement without needing to answer or change it now.

An example

I thought asking would bother them. Is that true of everyone, or am I expecting one particular response?

Reflect

Does the wording capture the belief accurately?
