Explore a recurring belief or rule · D8.11

Consider known influences on a belief

You are curious about where a familiar idea may have come from.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Name the belief and list influences you actually remember or can identify, such as repeated messages, experiences, or cultural expectations.
  2. Separate what you know from what you are guessing. You do not need a single origin story.
  3. Ask how you want to relate to the belief now, regardless of where it began.

An example

I remember hearing that asking for help was a burden. I do not know every reason I came to believe it.

Reflect

What is established, and what remains only a possibility?

Next time

Avoid forcing memories or searching for an explanation when that feels distressing; choose support if needed.
