Keep evidence for a balanced belief

You have a more balanced perspective and want to remember why it seems credible.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Write the perspective in specific, realistic terms.
  2. Record one concrete example that supports it and any limit or exception you know.
  3. Keep the note where you can review it when relevant, and update it if new evidence changes the picture.

An example

I can sometimes ask for help: I asked Mei to explain the form. It is harder with people I do not know.

Reflect

Is the note believable because it includes both evidence and limits?

Next time

The note is a reminder of evidence, not a demand to feel confident.
