Plan what to do while waiting

A predictable delay tends to leave you frustrated or repeatedly checking.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Identify what you are waiting for and whether you can get a reliable update.
  2. Choose an ordinary activity for the waiting period and a reasonable point to check again.
  3. Imagine or write yourself using that plan while allowing frustration to remain.

An example

While a file uploads, I can prepare the next document and check when the upload indicator changes.

Reflect

Did the plan fit the actual wait?

Next time

Ask for information when necessary rather than treating patience as silent endurance.
