Prepare or review a boundary conversation · S8.15

Choose a comfortable setup for saying a limit

Your physical setting makes it harder to communicate a boundary.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Notice a practical issue such as noise, crowding, standing discomfort, or difficulty hearing.
  2. Choose one change you can request or make, including another format or postponing the discussion.
  3. Practice your short boundary sentence in that setup if helpful, without trying to perform a particular posture.

An example

Could we move somewhere quieter? I want to make sure we understand each other.

Reflect

Did the setting support communication, or is another arrangement needed?

Next time

Use practical access needs as valid reasons to change the setup.
