Adapt the task or ask for work support · S2.13

Agree on support for focused work

Shared responsibilities or interruptions are making it hard to work on a task.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Identify the specific overlap: noise, messages, shared space, an unclear responsibility, or an interruption.
  2. Write a request that names what you need and for how long, leaving room for the other person’s needs.
  3. Agree on a check-in or alternative if possible, and clarify what would count as urgent.

An example

Could I use this table until 3? After that we can sort the papers together.

Reflect

Was the arrangement clear and workable for everyone involved?

Next time

Revise the agreement if the situation changes.
