Turn a value into a practical action · S5.16

Show a value through one observable action

You want a value to be visible in what you do rather than only in what you say.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Choose a value and a specific situation where you want to express it.
  2. Name one behavior another person could actually observe, without trying to manage their impression of you.
  3. Try the behavior if appropriate and note what happened, including any unintended effect.

An example

I value inclusion. I can ask whether someone who has not spoken wants to contribute, without putting them on the spot.

Reflect

Did the action express the value as intended?
