Put a busy mind onto paper
Several thoughts or tasks are competing for your attention, and you want somewhere to put them.
Everyday practice
Try these steps
- For a few minutes, write short notes about what is on your mind. Fragments are enough; you do not need to finish the list.
- Mark each note as something to act on, something to ask about, or something you can leave for now.
- Choose one action or question to return to. Put the list somewhere you can find it, then stop sorting.
An example
“Reply to Sam: action. Unsure about the bill: ask. Worry about next month: leave here for now.”
Reflect
Did writing things down change what felt manageable, or did it add another task?
