Adjust position, space or sensory demands · S6.15
Make a comfortable movement choice
You have been holding one position during a stressful task.
Everyday practice
Try these steps
- Notice whether you want to remain still or change position; neither choice needs an emotional explanation.
- If comfortable and accessible, make an ordinary small movement you already know suits you, such as shifting in your chair.
- Notice whether the change suits you, then continue, rest, or choose another position without pushing through discomfort.
An example
After a difficult call, I change seats and let my hands rest on the table.
Reflect
Did the position or movement make the next moment more comfortable?
Next time
Use a movement you prefer, or skip movement entirely.
