Separate measurement from interpretation · S12.4
Ask what a biofeedback reading can and cannot tell you
A device or service offers feedback about a bodily measurement.
Consider a practice claim
Try these steps
- Identify what is measured, how it is collected, and who interprets it.
- Ask about intended use, evidence, accuracy, privacy, suitability, and the limits of conclusions from the reading.
- Discuss clinical use with an appropriately qualified professional rather than treating a score as an emotional diagnosis.
An example
Does this reading measure a specific signal, and what would a change actually mean?
Reflect
Are measurement and interpretation clearly distinguished?
