Ask for feedback and review agreements · S1.14

Translate relationship feedback into one behavior

Someone's feedback is too broad to act on.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Ask for a specific example of what they noticed and what they would prefer.
  2. Check that you understand the request, then decide what you are willing and able to change.
  3. Agree on one observable action rather than promising to become a different kind of person.

An example

Instead of 'Be more considerate,' we agree that I will check before changing our shared plans.

Reflect

Is the agreed action clear to both of you?

Next time

Review whether the action addressed the concern and adjust by mutual agreement.
