Choose a setting or nature-related break · S6.21
Take a noticing break with a natural detail
You want a different point of attention during a self-critical moment.
Everyday practice
Try these steps
- Choose an accessible detail you are comfortable noticing: a leaf, daylight, a cloud, or a nature photograph.
- Describe its color, shape, sound, or movement without needing to draw a lesson from it.
- Decide whether to stay a little longer or return to your task. Indoor and seated options count.
An example
From my desk, I notice the outline of a plant leaf and the light on its edge.
Reflect
Was the change of attention welcome, neutral, or unhelpful?
