Notice strengths and real support · D10.12

Notice something you appreciate, if it fits

You want to acknowledge a helpful or meaningful detail without pretending the whole day was good.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. If something comes to mind, name one small thing you appreciated: an action, an object, a moment, or support you received. It is okay if nothing comes to mind.
  2. Describe what you noticed in one sentence. You do not need to find a lesson or turn a difficult experience into a positive one.
  3. Keep the note private or choose to thank someone for a specific action. Stop there; appreciation does not create a debt or cancel a boundary.

An example

“Today was hard. I appreciated that Jo brought the document over so I didn’t have to make another trip.”

Reflect

Did this feel natural, forced, mixed, or unhelpful?

Next time

Repeat only if it suits you. You can also name what was difficult or what support was missing.
